Summer is officially in full swing, which means we finally have time to read those books we’ve been piling up on our shelves over the past few months. There is nothing more relaxing than reading a book on the beach with the sound of waves crashing in the background, so I’ve rounded up a comprehensive list of books perfect for just that! Read on for some of my favorite books, ones I have queued up for the rest of summer, and some bonus recommendations!
Books I’ve Recently Read and Loved
If there’s one author that I can trust to write an incredibly intricate and jaw-dropping book, it’s Colleen Hoover. Verity is a dark and twisted tale of Lowen Ashleigh who is hired to finish a bestselling author’s series after the author gets injured in a terrible accident. But as Lowen spends more time combing over the intricate notes and outlines, she learns some dark and disturbing facts about the author.
A follow-up to her bestselling Natural Disaster, Ginger Zee opens up about even deeper into her struggles with her mental health issues and shares her truest self. In this book, Ginger shares details of her stormy childhood, her ongoing struggles with crippling depression, her suicide attempts, and many other life experiences that will resonate with readers who are likely to see themselves along the way.
Not for the faint of heart, Ugly Love is a romance novel centered around the no-strings relationship of Tate and Miles who realize quickly just how wrong they were about this situation. There are so many reasons that this book is one of Colleen Hoover’s most popular, and I can’t wait for you to read it.
Books I Want to Read
There should be no surprise that the first book on this list is written by Colleen Hoover. This Contemporary Romance novel is a raw and emotional take on infertility and depression and its effects on a marriage.
If you’re up to date on your pop culture, then you know that Where The Crawdads Sing has been filmed as a movie and will be released on July 13th, and my goal is to finish the book before seeing the movie.
This novel tells the story of the fall of The Hotel Nantucket and the journey of one billionaire’s dream to restore the hotel to the gem it once was while uncovering the truth behind the murder that shattered it all.
Bonus Recommendations
The sequel to It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, this novel will tell the story of Atlas and what comes next! Set to release on October 18th, you can bet I have already preordered the book!
This trilogy has recently been made into a tv series on Amazon Prime. I highly recommend reading the books before starting this show.
Fun Fact: I have never read any of the Harry Potter books or seen any of the movies! I know, I know, everyone raves about them, but I just don’t think they’re for me! If you think I’m wrong, let me know!
Have I missed anything on your list? I am always looking for new book recommendations, so be sure to send any and all my way!
